Selling with Angel Auctions
In this modern day and age, it has never been easier to sell your items at auction. Whether you require your art, antiques, jewellery and collectables valued, Angel Auctions are here to help.
We offer free, no obligation, onsite valuations and house visits for larger consignments or estate / probate sales. So, if you are thinking of selling an item or a collection, then we would be delighted to help. We have amassed, to date, a century worth of experience between our staff.
We strongly believe in courtesy, professionalism and honesty with both our vendors and our buyers, so rest assured your items are in good hands and you will always be treated with respect.
Commission as a vendor, (Seller)
We will charge you a vendor’s commission on the sale of the Goods, this is calculated as a percentage of the Hammer Price, (the selling price), currently at 16.5% plus a Lotting fee, (on sold items only), of £2.50 in our Live and Timed Online sales. We will also charge a damage and warranty fee of 1.5% of the Hammer Price.
House Clearances
We offer all our house clearance and sellers the very best of all Worlds, when it comes to the disposing of their items. We are able to process Consignments, Partial or Full house clearances quickly and efficiently through our sister and in-house company Nortrad House Clearance. Our clearance specialists check through all items which will then be placed in one of our suitable auction sales. For more prestige items, they will be placed in one of our upcoming Angel Auctions sales. For more general items, these will be processed by our sister auction house, Nortrad Auctions. For any House Clearance enquiry please contact Chris Preston on 01227 934567 or email him on: info@angelauctions.co.uk
Estate Sales and Private Collections
For any Estate Sales or Private Collections, these are dealt with by our Director personally, who has a wealth of experience and knowledge that makes all the difference to a successful sale. He oversees the entire auction process from the initial visit and valuation, through to careful research, cataloguing, marketing and sale. If you have an estate or a significant collection that you are considering selling, please contact Lennard Norris on 01227 934567 or email lennorris@angelauctions.co.uk for a free and confidential meeting.
Buying with Angel Auctions
Buying through Angel Auctions is simplicity itself.
We utilise the online bidding platform, Easylive Auctions. This renowned marketplace platform is one of the UK’s and Europe’s largest specialist auction bidding platforms and have amassed a huge database of buyers, worldwide.
Online Bidding
We use the latest technology to ensure that you can bid in all of our auction sales from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you are in the world. Whether you are a UK-based or an international bidder, our online Live or Timed bidding systems allow you to access each auction in real-time, whilst soaking up the saleroom atmosphere with live video and audio feeds (Live auctions only).
Our aim is to provide every client with the best experience possible for selling and buying collectables and antiques at auction. You can browse our sales, place your bids, buy items, pay online and have your items shipped at fixed prices, all with a single login.
First of all, you have to be a registered customer and logged on to Easyliveauction.com. Not signed up yet? Sign up now to your free customer account.
To bid:
1. Click ‘Follow the auction and bid live’.
2. Click ‘Join the bidding’
3. Click the ‘Place bid’ button when you see the amount appear that you wish to bid and ‘confirm’ your bid.
4. If you’re in the lead, you will be notified that ‘You are the highest bidder’.
4. If you’re outbid, the bid now button will reappear.
If you want to place a higher bid than the suggested ‘next bid’, you can enter the highest price you want to pay for the item. After that, the system will automatically bid on your behalf as favourably as possible, trying to win the auction at the lowest possible amount, until it reaches your maximum bid.
Alternatively, you can place a bid on items anytime between when the auction catalogue is published online or whilst the Live auction is taking place. At the end of the Live or Timed auction, the highest bidder wins the Lot.
You may also wish to leave your maximum commission bid with us and we will enter it on your behalf during the auction.
You can always follow your biddings in “My Account”.
When you have won an auction, you will receive an email informing you how to pay your invoice, collect your item or order its transportation.
Due to upcoming UK auction government legislation, we will need proof of ID before allocating you with a paddle number.
Commission Bids
You can leave a commission bid with us when you visit us in person or by phone or email and we will endeavour to buy on your behalf as cheaply as possible. The bidding does not start at the price you indicate.
If you intend to bid on a lot with an estimate over £1,000, we will need proof of ID. This will then be checked and safely stored for 5-years and you will receive your own individual buying number.
Buyer’s Premium
A buyer’s premium of 22.5% will be charged on top of the hammer price on all Lots with a minimum of £2.50 being charged per Lot. There are additional fees for buying online. An additional 3.6% (3% plus VAT) or a flat fee per sale of £3.00 (inc VAT) per sale for bidding on easyliveAuction.
Condition Reports
Remember that at auction it is up to you, the bidder, to satisfy yourself about the condition of an item. Please note, Angel Auctions are not entering into a contract with you in respect of the Condition Report and accordingly do not assume responsibility to you in respect of it, nor do we agree to owe you as a Bidder any obligation or duty in respect of this free report about a lot, which is available for your own inspection or for inspection by an expert instructed by you.
Viewing Days
Here at Angel Auctions, we are always happy to offer viewing times. For convenience and due to the small numbers of staff, viewing is strictly offered on a Thursday or Friday prior to the auction day. These viewing days are by appointment only. Viewing is available from 10:30am – 2:00pm.
Collection & Transportation
The responsibility for the collection of purchases rests with the buyer. We also offer different transport solutions and can arrange shipment to countries all over the world using a variety of transport companies depending on size, value and end-destination.
Payment of any Invoice
Payment must be made prior to collection. Goods will only be released upon receipt of cleared funds. The simplest way to pay your invoice is by bank transfers, alternatively we can accept payment by credit / debit card by telephone or in person. Unlike a growing amount of auction houses not accepting cash, here at Angel Auctions, we still accept cash but please do not be insulted as we do check all notes.
For further information or clarification, please see our full Terms and Conditions.
Proof of ID
As part of the EU directive known as DAC7, and similar upcoming UK legislation, all digital selling platforms are now required to report seller identity and transaction information to the tax authorities. When selling items with Angel Auctions, we may therefore ask you for your passport or other identification, or at the very least for your date and place of birth.
Relevant data will not be shared with any third parties, but will be stored securely for 5-10 years in full compliance with GDPR procedures.
